So you think you have what it takes to learn Spanish? Well, you are not the only one. Many people have already decided they want to learn a new language. Spanish, coincidentally being the second most spoken language in the world, always seems to be the first one chosen by many. Although many have indeed stated that they want to learn how to speak Spanish, many do not. Why? Well as it turns out there is not a simple answer to that questions because everyone has a different scenario. However, there are three things that most people complain about when trying to learn a new language. Although some get over these obstacles quickly, others do not and oftentimes these simple problems impede them from realizing their goal. Below are the top three excuse and their common solutions.
1- I want to learn Spanish, but how? There are many options to chose from when learning a foreign language, especially one as common as Spanish. For starters, check your local news paper and local business directories. Oftentimes instructors offer courses and to promote themselves they do what any other business owner does, advertise. However, if you prefer a stay-at-home environment, do some online research and you are guaranteed to find all sorts of courses ranging from levels for beginners to advanced speakers. Finally, do not become discouraged if you do not find something you like the first time around, keep searching.
2- I want to learn Spanish, but I feel shy when I speak because of my accent. Do not worry! Everyone has the same problem when learning a new language. Remember, Rome wasn't built in one day! Good things take a while and a lot of practice, so do not be discouraged if you do not have a native accent on your first day!
3- I want to learn Spanish, but I don't have the time. This is perhaps the MOST common excuse that people come up with when trying to learn something new. The only solution to this problem is to get organized and find room in your schedule to complete your goal of learning Spanish!
Remember, perseverance is the key!
